Welcome to the official web portal of the Notstalgia Archive, the internet's premier repository for the research and preservation of our collective, imagined past.
Founded in Twenteen-Thirteenteen, the Archive has grown into an internationally ignored organisation, with locations in Aris, North Haverbrook, and the island nation of Sqwarb.
Our mission is simple: to ensure that these precious falsities are protected, studied, and celebrated as vital parts of cultural memory. While history may be written by the winners, nostalgia is made up by us losers. Our motto says it best: falsus memoria vincit veritatem – “Your subscription to translate.com has expired”
The Archive is beyond money.
But we do need it.
If you would like to apply to become a generous member of the Archive’s Internal Fabrication Department, please queue up at patreon.com/NotstalgiaArchive
Welcome to the Archive - If you think you recognise something here, you don’t.
The Notstalgia Archive is not real.
It is a creative project by two UK artists. Nothing is ‘discovered’, everything is a manipulation of material to create something new.
We love making people laugh and see our work as a giant nostalgic in-joke for everyone to step into. Our work explores the sensation of false memories and we delight in fabricating lost evidence of alternate worlds; like a kind of lost-media graffiti.
We use AI tools as part of our process.
None of our work is intended to convince someone they are real. Our attention to fidelity is simply to create the feeling that it could have been real— for comedic effect.
We don’t aim to deceive, but rather to invite you in to bullshit with us. If you have been negatively affected by our work, or have any questions, tips, or requests, please contact us at: 403forbidden@notstalgiaarchive.org
We chat about our intent, methods and experiences on our Patreon page. Come hang out with us, and get to understand more about how and why we create this utter nonsense.
